Beauiful

Beautiful 12x12 Layout

Where should I begin with this wonderful layout that I created for my daughter?  To start with I have to say WOW!  I am loving the paper from LemonCraft Heart Painted collection!  Their papers are absolutely gorgeous!  I have lots of layers and fun elements on this layout so I'll get on with explaining everything that I've done.

So, like I said I used LemonCraft paper and this specific paper is called Gladness.  I wanted a little more pink to the page so I sprayed it with LSG Salt Water Taffy, Chateau Rose, and Clam Bake Beige.  I inked and distressed the edges.

Once it was dried I used the mini "Art Is" stencil from the Crafters Workshop and applied a coat of modeling paste.  I love the way it turned out!!

On to all the fun layers...

A paper doily that I lightly inked in brown ink was the base to all my layers.  Next, I layered the leafy vine frame from Creative Embellishments.  I embossed it with LSG Orbit Olive Gold powder.  Wow! Can you say gorgeous!!!!  This color is perfect for this chipboard and paper!  A piece of corrugated cardboard was next and then some cards from a cut out sheet from the LemonCrafts House of Roses collection.  I fussy cut some flowers and layered them in.  Some pink rosette trim and lace were added too.

For my title I used Beautiful from the "Girl Word Set" from Creative Embellishments and embossed it with LSG Chateau Rose powder.

I created a cluster of flowers on top of the vines chipboard with Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.  I didn't have green flowers so I used Prima Color Bloom Spray in Lime Wedge, LSG Ponderosa Pines Olive, and Sea Grass Green to color some white flowers.

I forgot to mention that within my layers I tucked pieces of cheesecloth.  I also added a flair from the LemonCraft collection in the upper corner.

The butterflies were fussy cut from the same cutout sheet as the cards.  I added some stickles and liquid pearls to them.

To finish the page I scattered a few butterflies across the page and dry brushed gesso across my flowers and layers.  I toped off the flowers with a little stickles.

Thanks for looking~Melissa

Birthday Wishes...

I had so much fun creating this shabby chic birthday card for my daughter's 12th birthday.  For the base of the card I used kraft cardstock and papers from the Prima Princess Collection.  I distressed the edges and inked in Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink.  I pleated the top layer of paper and layered lace trim under it.

For the Lindy's Stamp Gang Color Challenge I sprayed the background with Kissin' Kenickie Coral
mixed with Clam Bake Beige, and then some of the C'est la vie Cerise Flat Fabio.  I mixed modeling paste with a couple sprays of C'est la vie Cerise and used the Dylusions Alphabet Border stencil.  I also used C'est la vie Cerise Embossing Powder on my chippy.

For the Creative Embellishment challenge I needed to use a flourish and I knew I wanted to use this beautiful butterfly from the Flourish Butterfly Set 2 for my card.  The mood board felt like Spring to me and my eye was drawn to the butterflies and flowers.  I embossed the chippy with the C'est la vie Cerise powder and then finished it off with 4 pearls.  Wow!  This butterfly is beautiful!!  I love all the intricate details in it!

The Butterfly chippy is layered on top of tulle, a doily that has been sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang Clam Bake Beige and then adorned with Wild Orchid Crafts flowers.  To finish off the card I dry brushed everything with some gesso and Diamond Stickles.

I tucked my sentiment under the butterfly and above my pleated area which I topped off with a flat back pearl from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Thank you for looking~Melissa

You keep me anchored layout

You Keep Me Anchored 12x12 layout

For this 12x12 layout I used the Prima Seashore collection including the papers, ATC pads in sizes 3x4 and 4x6, flowers, leaves, chipboard pieces, tags, and paperclip. I've also used Prima Color Bloom sprays in Soft Teal, Antique Gold, and Precious Stone.

I distressed all the papers and inked all the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink. I layered my papers, cheese cloth, and a piece of corrugated cardboard for my photo.

For the background I used modeling paste and Tim Holtz Burlap stencil and then spayed with Soft Teal and Precious Stone.  Once dried I stamped the background with stamps from the Seashore collection.

The chipboard pieces are from Creative Embellishments.  I used the Chicken Wire Panel and the anchor from the Nautical 6 piece set. I sprayed them with Antique Gold.

I mixed in some small Wild Orchid Crafts open roses with the Prima flowers and layered them on and around the Chipboard embellishments.

Thanks for looking~Melissa

Love You

So, I've decided to enter this card in the Creative Embellishments February Challenge.  The challenge was to pick something from the photo that inspires you and to have an ombre effect somewhere on your project. My eye was drawn to the flowers, the shades of pink, and the ribbons throughout.

 feb

This is my favorite card by far! I made this card for my husband and I am in loooove with it!  I used my flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts to decorate it and I embossed a few chippies from Creative Embellishments.

The chippies that I used are from Creative Embellishments. The swirly chippy is Flourish 24 and it reminded me of the ribbons throughout the photo.  I love that it follows the height of the card.  The "love you" chippies are from the I love You Set which is perfect for this challenge.  I embossed all the chippies with my Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder.

Again, my inspiration from the photo were all the flowers.  A cluster of Wild Orchid Crafts flowers with a heart locket sit on a doily that has been sprayed with Prima color Bloom tea stained spray. Love it!!  This is where I tried to add the umbre effect by adding white gesso to the tips of some of the darker flowers and darker ink to the tips of the lighter colored flowers.

I layered my papers lighter to darker to create a subtle umbre effect and then rolled back the corners to reveal a stamped corner.

 Beautiful...

Love

My daughter is of course the princess of the family and she loves beautiful things. I knew that she would appreciate something a little more detailed and girly. I used my mulberry flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts to decorate this swing card. I also embossed the "love" chippy from Michaels. I love how you can really change this style of card up.

I love the cluster of mulberry flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts in the corner.

I embossed the chippy with my Lindy's Stamp Gang embossing powder.

So Stinkin' Cute

Here is another Valentine's Day swing card that I made my youngest son. He's always telling everyone they're "So Stinkin' Cute!"  The print and cut feature makes card making so easy!

Toad-ally Loveable

Happy Valentine's Day!! I've been busy in my craft room making cards for my kiddos and husband the last few days. Here is a swing card I made my son. I think it's Toad-ally awesome! wink emoticon
